It is disappointing that today for the highest levels of pro motorcycle motorsports there is a 4-Stroke hegemony. This is due to motorcycle OEMs pressuring sanctioning bodies to penalize or outright ban 2-Strokes as most of the OEMs were not selling 2-Stroke models. This has trickled down to the average consumer into more expensive to buy and maintain 4-stroke bikes.
So we need the Obama Administration to fix this. A Cash for Thumpers program should be launched to pay consumers $2,500 to trade in a 1990 and new four stroke bike for a current two stroke model. An extra $1,500 will be given for a person buying a new Maico. Here is racing as it should be:
